Our patients range from children to seniors, and we are privileged to be part of their story as they continue their life journey with an amputation. We're always happy to share their success stories—here are just a few of them.
We love hearing & sharing our patients' success stories.
Steve Ziehr was significantly injured in a workplace accident in 2004, falling 30 feet and severely breaking both his legs, effectively obliterating his right ankle. While this could have derailed his goals of building an engineering and construction business and travelling the world, it in fact galvanized his focus and stoked his drive to ensure this challenge did not dictate his life.
“Born without his fibulas (bilateral fibula hemimelia) on January 4th, 2007, my son Matteo now stands tall at nine years old. And in these short nine years, this young man has accomplished a lot! At the age of one, his feet were amputated and in only seven short months this boy was up and walking. A man on a mission, some would say."
“If you had asked me 16 months ago as I lay in bed waiting to have my leg amputated what I would have been doing today, my response would have been unclear. Thankfully due to the professionalism, caring and commitment of Barber Prosthetics, my response is, 'Anything that I want!'"
“After becoming a bilateral amputee later in life, I was more than ready to take on this new lifestyle with a can-do attitude. After having difficulties with finding the right fit, I decided that Barber Prosthetics was the place to be to take my first steps toward accomplishing my goals. I found Barber to be innovative, creative and ahead of the times, exactly what I needed."
